We specialize in beginners! Just because our training is world class doesn’t mean you have to be. Remember every champion started out as a beginner. We teach step by step and pride ourselves in teaching solid foundational techniques. Drilling the fundamentals is how every athlete excels in their sport! If you are a beginner we will take the time to show you every detail along the way to becoming intermediate.
Everyone knows that at some gyms if you are not a top fighter you just don’t get the attention you need to become one! At Phuket Muay Thai we make sure that intermediate level members get a chance to continue developing their skills and fundamentals while also giving them the challenge and push they need to reach an advanced level!
Our team has trained some of the best fighters ever! One of our trainers has trained three Stadium champions. Another one of our trainers was ranked in the top 10 fighters in Thailand. We also have a solid stable of professional fighters for you to spar and clinch with that can challenge you and sharpen your skills! Iron sharpens iron! We can also arrange fair matchups at any of our local stadiums for those who wish to compete and are staying at least 3 weeks or more.
Before Muay Thai Class
What is a typical class like?
Warm Up- We always start by warming up. Skipping rope, followed by stretching.
Shadow Boxing- After stretching we will do some light Shadow Boxing to get your body fully warmed up and our trainers will work with you on your technique and evaluate your level.
Pad Work- At Phuket Muay Thai you always get 5 3 minute rounds on pads with the trainers. All of our trainers have unique skill sets and specialties so we switch trainers every round so you can take advantage of learning from different trainers instead of being stuck with one trainer the whole time.
Heavy Bags- 5 3 minute rounds of working on your techniques on short or long heavy bags.
Technique- Our expert trainers will teach you offensive and defensive techniques, partner drills and tricks!
Sparring/Clinching- Muay Thai or boxing sparring and clinching is done at the end of class. If you are new to sparring/clinching we will pair you with one of our trainers and they will make it a fun and enjoyable learning experience for you. We will also play games with our beginning students to teach them how to spar. If you are more experienced we will pair with someone your level.
Conditioning- Drills on the bag, push-ups, sit-ups etc
Stretch- Final Stretch and Cooldown
